Northern Light Retreats in Iceland
Stay at a cosy retreat in Iceland and enjoy warm drinks and hot tubs under the Northern Lights. You can enjoy the best views between October and March, at peak times between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. We'd also recommend checking the Iceland Met Office’s aurora forecast.
Climb the Eiffel Tower in Paris
Take in panoramic views of the city from the top of the Eiffel Tower and enjoy a walk along the Seine. Remember to book tickets in advance to avoid waiting in long entry lines. If tickets are sold out, go for the "Lift entrance ticket with access to 2nd floor" only option on the tower's website.
Tour the Colosseum in Rome
Step back in time as you explore the ancient ruins of the Roman Colosseum and the nearby Roman Forum. Sign up for a guided tour since they guarantee first entry, meaning fewer crowds. Also, make sure the tour includes the entry cost so the guide already has your tickets.
Hike in the Swiss Alps
Take a short-day hike or plan multi-day treks in the Swiss Alps and enjoy the breathtaking views. The best time to visit is from June to mid-September, during the summer months. If you want to avoid the crowds, May or mid-September to October is the best time.
Ride a Gondola in Venice
Choose your gondolier and enjoy a romantic ride as they row you through the canals in Venice. Private ones cost around €80, so if you're on a budget, you can go for a shared gondola, which costs around €34. They're also only offered a few times during the day between 2:00pm to 5:00pm.
Wine Tasting in Bordeaux
Visit the famous vineyards in Bordeaux and try different types of wines, and learn how they are made. We'd recommend checking sites like Rue de Vignerons to make it easier for you to choose top-rated Bordeaux vineyards and châteaux to visit.
Bike Past Tulips in the Netherlands
Rent a bike and pedal past the colourful tulips and other flower fields in Keukenhof Gardens in the Netherlands. We'd also recommend checking out the Flower Parade in Holland. Ensure you check the festival dates, since they are different every year.
Raft in the Austrian Alps
Enjoy the thrilling adventure of white-water rafting in the rivers and gorges of the Austrian Alps. Tyrol and SalzburgerLand are a personal favourite of many since it's a hotspot for rafting and kayaking, with white-water sections catering to beginners and pros.
Visit the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam
Explore the famous art of Van Gogh and get a glimpse at popular paintings like the ‘Sunflowers’. We'd also recommend exploring the temporary exhibitions in the modern wing of the museum. Remember to book in advance to avoid the long queues.
Make Chocolate in Switzerland
Visit a chocolate factory or join a workshop to learn how Swiss chocolate is made and snack on some. Some popular spots are the Lindt Home of Chocolate (near Zurich), Mastrani Chocolarium (near Appenzell) and Maison Cailler (near Lausanne).
