E-Challan Ahmedabad
A Every citizen must follow traffic rules and regulations while driving on Indian roads to ensure smooth traffic flow and safety for all. The Ahmedabad e-challan system was introduced to penalise violators by imposing fines based on the offences committed. Common violations include overspeeding, signal jumping, driving without a helmet or seat belt, using mobile phones while driving, and not carrying valid motor insurance.
In 2024, the Ahmedabad traffic department issued over 12 lakh e-challans using advanced CCTV cameras and ANPR technology installed across major junctions like SG Highway, Ashram Road, and Satellite. The system enables authorities to send electronic challans directly to the vehicle owner’s registered address and maintain accurate violation records, reducing paperwork and delays.
The e-challan system benefits drivers too, allowing them to check pending challans and pay online from home, saving time and effort. Digitisation ensures better traffic management and compliance with road safety norms in Ahmedabad.
