Business Travel Insurance
Business travel insurance is a specialised policy that protects corporate travellers from travel-related risks on work trips abroad, such as lost passports, delayed baggage, missed connections or sudden medical emergencies. It’s designed for professionals travelling internationally for work, ensuring that unexpected setbacks don’t derail important meetings or plans during your trip.
With business travel surging again globally, worldwide corporate travel spending is projected to hit $1.57 trillion in 2025, and more professionals are flying overseas frequently for work. In fact, there has been a 32% increase in Indians taking two or more international trips per year, reflecting how common frequent business trips have become.
Travel insurance is essential in this scenario, not only because many countries now require it for visas or entry, but also as a safeguard against unpredictable disruptions like flight delays. For example, a travel insurance policy can reimburse your non-refundable expenses, like hotel bookings, if your trip is cancelled unexpectedly. It can also help you obtain a new passport if yours is lost, so that your work can continue uninterrupted.

Your first flight lands late, and you miss the onward leg. While you focus on rearranging the meeting, we step in with delay/interruption benefits and offer coverage for extra hotel nights and meal allowances up to USD 500*. This way, you can get back on schedule without derailing your work plan.
Passport Lost on the Way to the Consulate
A crowded metro ride, and your passport goes missing. When this happens, we guide you through the next steps, connect you with the embassy, and cover the issuance costs for an emergency travel certificate or replacement passport. Support is available round-the-clock, so your trip can continue smoothly.
Sudden Illness Overseas
You wake up unwell a day before your presentation. Not to worry, as we arrange cashless treatment at hospitals (if the hospitals accept a GoP). You get timely care while we handle the logistics, keeping health emergencies from turning into business crises.
Baggage Delayed, Presentation Tonight
Your bag didn’t make it, but the client demo can’t wait at your new workplace. We offer up to USD 60/day* so you can cover essentials like clothing and toiletries and head to the venue prepared. If the bag is declared lost by the airline, we cover that too.
Flight & Trip Cancellations
Last-minute emergencies can disrupt even the best-planned itineraries. If you find that you need to cancel your trip due to a family emergency or a sudden illness, you can claim non-refundable costs like your hotel bookings and flight tickets using your travel insurance policy
Emergency Cash
The constant commutes from your hotel room to business meetings can have you misplacing your belongings in the rush. So, if your wallet is ever lost while overseas, our assistance team will coordinate emergency cash up to USD 300* so you can cover the essentials: transport, meals and lodging, and keep your business schedule on track.

Factors to Consider While Buying Business Travel Insurance
Coverage
Before purchasing business travel insurance online, evaluate your coverage needs. This can be things like whether you’ll be travelling multiple times during the year, checking if the plan offers a high enough sum insured in case you’re travelling to countries like the USA, where the cost of living is higher.
Exclusions
Get a detailed understanding of the policy exclusions so that you can avoid being surprised when filing a claim. Also, check coverage limits under the policy. For example, check how much reimbursement you’re offered for events like medical emergencies, and the minimum waiting time for when delays and baggage delays are covered.
Claim Settlement Process
Filing a claim from a distant land could get confusing. Hence, make sure that the claim process is simple, quick and efficient with quick verification and 24×7 support. With a high claim settlement ratio* IndusInd Business Travel Insurance moves your claim from intimation to payout swiftly and transparently.
