Unlike regular health insurance, which directly settles your medical bills, our Hospi Care plan puts the money in your hands and offers hospital cash payouts up to ₹10 lakhs.


For instance, if you have a Hospi Care with a sum insured of ₹5 lakh and plan to get a CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting) surgery, you get the entire ₹5 lakh in hand when you file a claim. Once you get this amount, you are free to use it in any way you deem fit. So, if your surgery only costs you ₹4 lakhs, you can use the remaining ₹1 lakh to cover other tangential costs like food, travel and extra medicine after discharge.

Day 1 Coverage: We offer day 1 coverage under our health insurance plans for accident-related claims and medical emergencies, ensuring quick and comprehensive medical coverage.

Surgical Procedure Cash: Offers lump sum cash of up to 100%* of the sum insured (SI) (maximum 10 lakh) payout for select surgical procedures*.

What is Not Covered?

Cashless Treatment at Network Hospitals

Once you notify us, we will:

  • Verify your policy and send an approval letter to the hospital.
  • Alert the hospital about any missing documents within 4 hours.
  • Reject and notify if treatment isn’t covered.

Cashless Treatment at Authorised Non-Network Hospitals

The Cashless Everywhere feature allows you to avail of cashless hospitalisation even at non-network hospitals. 
The cashless claim is available via the IndusInd health claims team (previously known as Reliance health claims team), RCARE, on your health card:

  1. Call: 022-4890 3009 (Paid).
  2. Submit documents to RCARE.
  3. RCARE will coordinate for cashless approval if eligible.

Reimbursement Claims (Any Hospital)

If cashless is denied, don’t worry. You can still claim via reimbursement.

  • Fill and sign the claim form.
  • Submit required documents (bills, prescriptions, discharge summary, etc.) within 15 days of treatment.
  • We will process and pay the approved amount, usually within 30 days.

What do you mean by lump sum cash benefit?

A lump sum cash benefit refers to a one-time payout we provide towards your hospitalisation expenses. For example, we offer a lump sum payout of ₹10 lakh under our Hospi Care policy.

Can I buy this plan if I have a pre-existing illness?

Yes. You can buy an IndusInd Hospi Care (previously known as Reliance Hospi Care) policy if you have a pre-existing disease. 


However, you have to serve a waiting period of 36 months (continuous coverage) before you can claim coverage and benefits. You must have continuous coverage during this 36-month period to be eligible for coverage. This means you must buy and hold the plan for 36 months to complete the waiting period. 

Is a pre-policy checkup mandatory for this plan?

Generally, a pre-policy checkup is mandatory only for individuals over 45 years of age with ₹5 lakh SI and above 50 years of age for any SI. However, we cover 100%* of the checkup cost to alleviate your financial burden.

Is it possible to change the sum insured for my plan during the policy year?

No. You can only modify your sum insured at the time of renewal. For detailed information, contact customer support.

How do I transfer my existing health policy to IndusInd General Insurance?

You can transfer an existing health insurance policy to IndusInd General Insurance (previously known as Reliance General Insurance) at the time of its renewal.


To do this, you need to submit a written request to your existing insurer at least 45 days before the renewal date. After this, you can contact us to get started with the transfer process.

Which policy do I file a claim under if I own more than one health policy?

You can file a claim under either policy if you have more than one health insurance policy --

 

For Cashless Claims: You can file a claim with any health insurance plan with an adequate sum insured.


For Reimbursement Claims: You can file a claim with any one policy. If the claim amount is higher than your sum insured limit, you can claim the remaining amount with another policy.

 

In case you've been admitted to the hospital for an extended period or require frequent visits, we recommend filing a claim under your IndusInd Hospi Care policy and using the lump sum to pay for your non-medical costs, like transport. You can then use your regular health policy to cover the actual cost of hospitalisation.

How do I file my claims in person?

You can file your claims in person by visiting the nearest branch of IndusInd General Insurance (previously known as Reliance General Insurance) with the specified documents. Use our Branch Locator to find our nearest office.


If your Hospi Care claim is rejected for any reason, you can file an appeal through our Grievance Redressal system.
