Factors to Consider While Buying Individual Travel Insurance
Things To Keep on Hand When Travelling Abroad
Travel Insurance
Great to have a soft copy downloaded on your phone or saved to Google Drive for quick access. You can also download the IndusInd Insurance App for easy access to your travel policy and our claims service during your trip.
Passport and Visa
You’ll need these two documents at all times, along with your boarding pass from the moment you set foot into the airport to taking your return flight back home. So, make sure you keep them on hand.
International Roaming or Local SIMS
Your choice will depend on what makes sense for you. You can check if your phone supports eSIMs, which can make adding local carriers a lot easier. WiFi is another consideration since not all places have public WiFi.
Forex Cards/Credit Cards
Forex cards help you stick to a budget since you can preload them and offer better ATM withdrawal rates than debit/credit cards. Meanwhile, credit cards offer extra benefits like airport lounge access and reward points.
Cash
It is always advisable that you carry local currency to ensure you are not stuck when in places that are cash-heavy especially for your local purchases and small value expenses. For eg. Countries like Japan are cash-forward.
Useful Apps
Apps like Trainline, Rome2Rio, Citymapper and even Google Maps can simplify commutes when travelling within city. Google Translate and Currency Converter Calculator can be great for non-English speaking countries and anyone travelling on a budget.
